Downpayment Assistance Programs/HFA

Arch MI works with state housing finance agencies that offer down-payment-assistance plans to insure eligible loans. Please contact your Arch MI Account Manager for more information.

Homebuyer Education

To help borrowers prepare for the challenges and responsibilities of homeownership, Arch MI believes that prospective homebuyers can benefit from homebuyer education programs sponsored by community, nonprofit and governmental agencies for prospective homebuyers across the country can be useful. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) identifies some of these housing counseling agencies by state on their Website. These programs offer advice on understanding the home buying process, default prevention, and credit management. Research has shown that the mortgage loans of borrowers who completed homebuyer education performed better compared to those who did not, a positive outcome for both lenders and their borrowers.

Borrowers may also want to consider participating in one of the numerous community-based programs offered by organizations in their community. The link below may provide information on local community programs.
